Achim Seifert Project - Dünyalar"Dünyalar" means "worlds" – as the son of a Turkish father, Seifert deals with his musical roots.

Achim Seifert, who was nominated for the Echo Jazz in the category "Best Bassist National" in 2016, has been running his Achim Seifert Project for more than ten years. "Dünyalar" is already the fourth album of the successful formation. After spending his early youth playing experimental rock music, the German-Turkish bassist eventually turned his attention to jazz. In the meantime, he is one of the most influential and sought-after electric bass players in Germany, worked with rock and pop greats such as Udo Lindenberg, Joy Denalane and Max Mutzke, but also left a lasting impression in the jazz field. In addition, he is now a lecturer for electric bass at the University of Music in Osnabrück. "The new album is an approach to my Turkish roots. I then selected these five from several hundred pieces and arranged them." The songs work with a poetic sound language that is dominated by melody and rhythm. "I chose the songs because of their melodies, but the rhythmic finesse also plays a role," says Seifert. "In Turkish music, odd time signatures dominate, which is a real playground, especially for a bass player."
