Two years ago, Adja released her debut EP "Ironeye", and her single "Told You So" has now been streamed over 1.8 million times. This spring she will release her long-awaited debut album "Golden Retrieve Her", an event she will celebrate with a German release concert with us. The album, which she co-composed with her partner in crime and guitarist Alexis Nootens, consists of eleven interconnected stories that explore how capitalism affects our most intimate relationships. Adja uses her voice and her flair for storytelling to tackle profound topics with humor. Based on her background in theatre and jazz and with a deep-rooted passion for R&B, soul and gospel, she has developed her unique style with warm, vibrant and organic sound. Her music is imbued with delicate power, creating a rich and beautifully mesmerizing atmosphere. Her influences include D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Lauryn Hill. Her music has been compared to the spiritual neo-soul of artists such as Erykah Badu, and her voice is reminiscent of the velvety alto of Lianne la Havas. In all comparisons, however, Adja is a completely independent and outstanding musician who spreads her very own magic.
