Afra Kane, born in Vicenza, Italy, is of Nigerian descent and began playing the piano to accompany church services. Her talent, which she recognized early on, led her to classical piano training at renowned conservatories. To cater to her wide-ranging musical interests, Afra soon turned her hand at singer-songwriting, fusing her classical training with elements of jazz, soul, R&B, future funk and more to create a nuanced, cinematic sound. Concerts around the globe have earned her a great reputation, not only in jazz circles. With her second album "Could We Be Whole", which was released last year, she flies very high. Her almost mysterious, creative approach is expressed in virtuoso arrangements and a voice that is as powerful as it is seductive. The result is music that exudes an elusive magic.
