What else can be said about Billy Cobham? He is one of the fathers of jazz rock and a leading fusion leader. Miles Davis brought the very young Cobham into the studio for the "Bitches Brew" sessions, which made music history. Guitarist John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra recorded the equally groundbreaking albums "The Inner Mounting Flame" and "Birds Of Fire" with the drummer. His debut album, released in 1973, became a milestone, with the LP "Spectrum" Cobham established his own style between jazz, rock and funk and caused a sensation worldwide. He brought previously unknown playing styles to jazz and rock music, which still influence both musical genres today.
From Miles Davis to George Benson, Cobham worked with almost all musical greats, not only in jazz-rock. With his band, Cobham, who has been living in Switzerland for many years, brings his pieces up to date and shows that his music has lost none of its fascination to this day.
