This year, this show is going on a world tour for the 20th time. The list of artists who made the big career leap as part of the Blues Caravan is as long as it is impressive. These include Ana Popovic, Samantha Fish, Aynsley Lister and Joanne Shaw Taylor. The three headliners of this year's anniversary edition, who are now following in their footsteps, embody an exciting mix of experience, emotion and youthful freshness.
Laura Chavez, who comes from California, is certainly the best known of the bunch. The gifted guitarist was the driving force in singer Candye Kane's band for many years (Blues Caravan 2005 and 2008) and has played countless concerts alongside Nikki Hill, Vanessa Collier and rock 'n' roll legend Mitch Ryder. Chavez knows how to inspire every audience with her song-serving rhythm guitar and her rousing electric guitar solos. Her excellent reputation in the scene was finally confirmed when she won the Blues Music Award for "Best Instrumentalist Guitar" in 2023 – the first female guitarist ever. Chavez will be on stage as a solo artist for the first time as part of the Blues Caravan.
Matthew Curry is a real insider tip for all those who know their way around the blues and rock scene. The American has been on the stages of North America for over a decade and inspires there with his unmistakable sound between blues, rock and Americana. He shared the stage with real greats such as Peter Frampton, the Steve Miller Band, the Doobie Brothers or Blackberry Smoke.
The newcomer to the group is the Frenchwoman Elise Frank. As the frontwoman of the formation FRANK, founded in 2021, she has already performed at renowned music festivals such as the Cognac Blues Passions Festival and the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival. Their appearances at the upcoming caravan tour can be eagerly awaited.
Even after 20 years and hundreds of shows, the proven concept of the Blues Caravan remains unchanged. First, each of the three headliners plays a complete live set, before they all perform together in an exciting jam session at the end.
