The formation Bobby Rausch inspires with a uniquely powerful, straightforward deep sound. Inspired by the interfaces between jazz and hip-hop, digital and analogue, the Berliners play music in the field of tension between control and improvisation. At their concerts, they lead the audience fearlessly through the darkest bass valleys and pulsating groove scapes. The exceptional musicians conjure up the urban night, filled to the brim with electro beats and rock vinyls, and will not skimp on sound energy for all those who have had enough of compromises.
The band works with an extended concept of jazz. The unusual, lowered instruments, Bari sax, bass clarinet and drums, project a powerful sound by means of a well-thought-out use of live electronics, which is oriented towards Berlin's club culture and its sound signature. However, the musicians do not hide behind the technique, but emphatically put their physicality, the handmade nature of the music, in the foreground. The fruitful symbiosis of the strong physical presence with electroacoustic sound design means allows Bobby Rausch to become active in different musical scenes at the same time – on large festival stages and in smaller clubs. The musicians' understanding of music remains anchored in jazz; however, diverse influences, transgressions of boundaries as well as the latest findings in beat science flow naturally into the Bobby sound world.
