Bobby Sparks IIJazz, funk, hip hop, soul, and fusion from the long-time member of the superband Snarky Puppy.

To set the room on fire - Bobby Sparks II, is the man for the very solid funk sounds. Often asked when it comes to bringing a good portion of spiciness to the soul stage or jazz studio. As a sideman, he has been a sought-after man for more than two and a half decades. Bobby Sparks, on the road with a great penchant for vintage instruments from the 1970s, has pressed the keys for numerous musicians: The long-time member of Snarky Puppy has worked with Prince, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, David Sanborn, D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill and St. Vincent, among others. It is all the more astonishing that the musician, who was born in Texas in 1973, only released his first album under his own name in 2019 after a very long run-up. "Schizophrenia – The Yang Project" was the name of the work, and on his solo debut Bobby Sparks shows that other varieties pulsate in his veins in addition to jazz. He has a large musical vocabulary at his disposal, and he fills it with a veritable genre potpourri. In addition to jazz, funk and fusion, soul, gospel and hip-hop also find their place in his music.
