Pianist David Helbock and bassist and cellist Julia Hofer have a lot in common: Both are playful, curious and like to experiment. And both think perfectionistically - a wonderful musical combination. David Helbock, figurehead of Austrian jazz, winner of several prizes at the world's largest jazz piano solo competition in Montreux, inspires audiences worldwide with his innovative projects. In his latest project, Helbock has been able to win over one of the most impressive young musical talents, the electric bassist and cellist Julia Hofer. Classically trained on the cello, she has so far attracted attention mainly in the pop world, be it through tours with the No Angeels or in TV shows such as Stefan Raab's. In addition to her impressive online presence on YouTube, where her videos for the Thomann company inspire millions of bass fans and she builds up a large fan base, she now dedicates herself more intensively to jazz together with David Helbock. In autumn 2025, the duo released their first joint album "Faces of Night" (ACT), which was immediately voted one of the best jazz albums of the year by "The Times" (UK) - a fascinating mixture of calm, dreamy original compositions and groovy jazz pieces that carry the unmistakable, emotional style of Helbock and Hofer. This evening promises to be an extraordinary sound experience – a musical journey full of deep emotions, playful innovations and intimate connection.
