Dominic Miller, known as the guitarist of Sting for over 30 years, is also a very successful solo artist who has already released 12 albums under his own name. Born in Buenos Aires to an American father and an Irish mother, he studied guitar at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston and at the Guildhall School of Music in London. Since the late 1980s, he has been one of the most sought-after studio musicians in the world. The list of his engagements is endless and difficult to catalog and includes collaborations with Phil Collins, The Chieftains, Paul Simon, Eddi Reader, Bryan Adams, Paul Young, Nigel Kennedy, Peter Gabriel and Tina Turner, to name but a few. Dominic Miller has worked on all of Sting's albums since 1991 and played thousands of concerts with the former "Police" singer.
With his current album "Vagabond", the gifted musician adds another highlight to his solo discography. Recorded in the southern French "La Buissonne" studio with world-class musicians such as Ziv Ravitz (dr), Nicolas Fiszman (b) and Jacob Karlzon (p), the result is a fascinating sonic mixture of jazz, pop, acoustic folk, contemporary classical and Latin elements. "Vagabond" combines all these styles into something completely new. There is still no genre term for this symbiosis, but Dominic Miller creates new musical spaces.
