© Gregor HohenbergWe are the biggest fan of this incredibly talented and fascinating musician. "Inkyra" is the spectacular new project of Emma Rawicz, who is just 24 years old and is currently one of the most exciting artists in British, even international jazz. As a synaesthete, the musician, who grew up in rural Devon, sees colours when she writes and composes music. Perhaps this also explains a little where her incredibly brilliant musical understanding comes from.
What began in a composition seminar at the Royal Academy of Music in London and continued in the first album "Chroma" can now be experienced with her new album "Inkyra". The tenor saxophonist has been working on her album for four years, together with her outstanding sextet, which brings together some of the most exciting young stars of Brit jazz at the moment. She says about her music: "With Joni Mitchell, there are these little vignettes in her lyrics with which she can create a whole world in short words. I try to write music that is inspired by that." The beauty of the world in one tone. This musician is not only extraordinary - she is a sensation.
