Eric Sardinas has had difficult years and has had to put the brakes on his career. But now the long-time "figurehead" in terms of blues is coming back to the stages. You will have to search for a long time before you find a musician who brings together the genres of blues and rock in a comparably original and always amazingly organic way, as Eric Sardinas does. On the one hand, he is a purist, whose greatest heroes were active especially in the primeval times of blues and rock'n'roll - Charley Patton, Bukka White, Blind Lemon Jefferson and Fred McDowell, T-Bone Walker, Chuck Berry or Bo Diddley, he lists. On the other hand, he is also a seasoned rocker. Eric Sardinas became known for his explosive live shows, but above all for his love of furious slide playing on electrically amplified resonator acoustic guitar. He is a sound fanatic who hears the smallest differences in each of his instruments and loves to create his signature sound from these evolutions of the banjos of yesteryear. The presumed limitations of these instruments compared to electric guitars are not even remotely noticeable to him, he says. And above all: "These things just sound sexy! The sound is beautiful. I always wanted to see how I could bring this magical sound further in its clarity by adding rock'n'roll and a certain roughness to it." He plays slide, blues, but it is the rock-blues that he interprets in his very own way.
