Francesca Tandoi

The Italian jazz pianist and singer Francesca Tandoi is celebrated by critics and peers as an up-and-coming jazz star and one of the most fascinating young talents on the international jazz scene. In just a few years, she gained international recognition as a first-class pianist and singer. Live and in the studio, she has worked with some of the world's most renowned jazz musicians, including saxophone legend Scott Hamilton, with whom she recorded several albums, Daryll Hall and Michael League (Snarky Puppy). She toured extensively and performed in some of the most important theatres, jazz festivals and clubs in the world, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz or Cork Jazz. She appears as a sidewoman in more than 20 recordings, but the piano trio is definitely her favorite line-up. As the leader of her own trio, she recorded a total of six albums. Francesca is accompanied by two long-time musical companions from the Dutch mainstream scene: On bass, the Brazilian double bass player Matheus Nicolaiewsky, who lives in the Netherlands and is one of the best double bass players in Europe. On the drums is the exceptional Rotterdam drummer Sander Smeets, who studied in the USA and is currently one of the most influential figures on the Dutch scene.
Piano legend Monty Alexander was downright enthusiastic about her debut album: "Francesca Tandoi is an extremely tasteful swing pianist. Her singing is exquisite, her compositions melodic and memorable, and her arrangements extremely well thought-out."
