Hamburger Landesjugendjazzorchester und Berliner Jugend JazzorchesterHamburg meets Berlin: Two Cities - One Groove!

In search of the current sound and groove of jazz in our turbulent times, two state youth jazz orchestras will be at the start and play a musical duo with very different, current compositions of the European jazz scene.

The Berlin Youth Jazz Orchestra will mainly bring its own compositions, which were written by the bandleaders Fabia Mantwill and Nikolai Thärichen especially for this ensemble consisting of big band, string quartet and 4 vocals. In addition, compositions by Claudia Döffinger, among others, can also be heard. Look forward to a very individual sound of the Berlin Youth Jazz Orchestra.

In its new program under the title "European Spirit", the Hamburg State Youth Jazz Orchestra combines current works by composers from all over Europe, who are extremely different in sound, but are nevertheless carried by a common idea: that jazz as a musical language can overcome all the borders that are unfortunately gaining importance again in Europe. Join us on a sound journey of enormous musical diversity and inspiration. The jazz scene in Europe is more vibrant and colorful than ever - and the LJJO Hamburg wants to bring this experience to life on the stage of the Nica Jazz Club.
