One of the most beautiful voices of jazz and rock is back with a new album: in August 2024, Hugh Coltman released "Good Grief", a fine jazz, rock and blues album. Coltman's voice is unmistakable, his exquisite vibrato, his sense of drama and of course that irresistible British accent make him one of the most outstanding singers of our time.
The story of his new, sixth album began with a dizzy spell he suffered. Coltman then decided to retire and devote himself entirely to writing for a while. And perhaps there is something good in every crisis – this is how Coltman deals with his shadows: fatherhood, midlife crisis, grief and the dizzying modern age. The rock crooner with the wonderful British accent doesn't pretend, so his songs hit right into the heart. Despite processing difficult moments, the album is far from gloomy. His songs contain resilience, love and the desire to embrace one's own weaknesses. His compositions are sometimes thoughtful, sometimes compassionate, sometimes biting, sometimes disillusioned, but far from the daredevil he once was. Equipped with his new program, it will be an incomparable experience to experience Hugh Coltman and his band live on stage.
