Benny Benack III has chosen the theme "Sing and Swing" for his concert for the "Jazz at Lincoln Center Presents" series he founded. Downbeat Magazine voted him "Rising Star Male Jazz Vocalist" of the year. He lives in Manhattan, where he founded the show "Sing & Swing" with trumpeter Bria Skonberg in 2024. "I'm looking forward to bringing a new version of this show to Europe, along with another absolutely rising star in the jazz sky, Kate Kortum!" Kate is from Houston, Texas, and recently released her second album, "Wild Woman." She will bring her warm, unmistakable vocals, a mixture of bebop, blues, Great American Songbook to Nica. These concerts in November 2026 will also be their first time in Europe. "I'm really looking forward to presenting some duets and familiar classics in a new way with Benny and the whole band. Singing with him is both enriching and just plain fun!" Benny returns the compliment: "Kate is an incredible artist and singer. Kate and I have both released new albums this year, and we're going to include some of those songs. And the audience can also expect some sing-along moments – we live from a committed space!" Kate shares this feeling. "I hope the audience goes home with a newfound love for swing and blues. At the end of the day, I want people to see that jazz music can be just as entertaining and topical as any other concert." That's exactly our concern - so let's go!
