Under the direction of Dirk Bleese, the JazzWerk Big Band presents a rousing cross-section of modern mainstream and contemporary European jazz. With imaginative arrangements, gripping grooves and swinging joy of playing, the ensemble brings today's orchestral jazz to the stage.
The JazzWerk Hamburg is a collective of Hamburg jazz musicians and presents orchestral jazz at the highest level. The members are renowned soloists and bandleaders of the Hamburg and German jazz scene. The arrangements and compositions are by the Hamburg pianist and composer Dirk Bleese.

The Big Band welcomes singer Malwina Richter as a special guest. Together with the ensemble, she presents newly arranged songs by Friedrich Holländer. His timeless chansons unfold a new timbre in the orchestral big band sound and combine wit, elegance and melancholy with the power of a modern jazz orchestra. Look forward to a special concert evening and a festive start to the new season after the summer break at Nica.
