Julia Hülsmann is one of the outstanding voices in European jazz and performs with her quartet on all the major international stages, including currently at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2026. With her lyrical, open, and at the same time highly precise sound, she has made a lasting impact on the German jazz scene and has also gained international recognition. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the German Jazz Prize and the Echo Jazz. Her quartet represents modern, chamber-like jazz that is equally sophisticated, atmospheric, and immediately accessible. This fall, she will be presenting her new album "While I Was Away", which she will once again release on the world-famous ECM label.
