© Nikolas MüllerJulian and Roman Wasserfuhr have been among the distinctive voices of German jazz for years. Clear melodies, an open sound language and atmospheric density characterise their unmistakable "Wasserfuhr sound". For Timelines, the brothers are once again working with two long-time friends: Colombian bassist Camilo Villa and drummer Dennis Frehse, who has lived in Tokyo for many years. The musicians have known each other since early joint projects, but had lost sight of each other for a long time. The reunion leads to a quartet in which musical experiences and influences across continents meet. As a special guest, saxophonist Jan Prax completes the ensemble. He is one of the distinctive voices of contemporary German jazz and convinces with a powerful, yet differentiated tone. The result is a lively, rhythmically present and at the same time melody-oriented band sound. European jazz tradition, Latin American influences and urban impulses from Japan intertwine organically and open up a lot of space for interaction and tones.
