On this evening, a musical journey through the land of traditional Christmas carols awaits us. This wouldn't be unusual, if it weren't for the fact that the frontman is a harmonica player. Christmas sounds that will shine anew in surprising colors. Curiously, the idea for her Christmas album came about in Dubai - a place that is not necessarily associated with Christmas. There, the two musicians performed in December 2021 during the EXPO in the German Pavilion and spontaneously incorporated Christmas music into their program. "The contrast between the hot desert city and the wintry sounds awakened in us the desire to think of Christmas musically globally," says Konstantin Reinfeld. His playing is technically perfect, refined and mature. His melodic empathy, his rhythmic and intonatory precision, his harmonic creative ability and, above all, his artistic implementation are impressive. Together with the renowned pianist Benyamin Nuss, the two use their broad stylistic spectrum of expression from jazz to blues to pop and Latin. "Merry Harmonica" is an invitation to celebrate the Christmas season across continents with a fresh, multifaceted soundscape. A colourful mix of different pieces from different nations: In addition to American classics such as "Santa Baby", they also play lesser-known titles such as "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" from a British-Japanese film production from 1983, but also traditional German Christmas carols such as "O Tannenbaum". They are combined with well-known disco hits by Boney M., "Mary's Boy Child" or "Snowman" by the Australian singer-songwriter Sia.
