Zappa meets cabaret, surf sounds, and metal riffs ride on the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, while Charles Mingus, The Who, Stravinsky, and Moondog act as godfathers. With Kuhn Fu, only the unexpected can be expected. Just when the audience is really in the groove, it is surprised by a sudden twist. Kuhn Fu stands for shocking moments that you fall in love with, for absurdity and humor, for an almost otherworldly energy between parody and a great seriousness with which they break musical blinders. Since its founding in 2012 in Groningen/NL, Kuhn Fu has combined jazz, rock, psychedelia, and improvisation into a distinctive sound cosmos. The band, led by Berlin-based guitarist and composer Christian Kühn, has so far released six studio and two live albums, was nominated for the 2023 German Jazz Award in the category 'Composition of the Year,' and played over 400 concerts in 23 countries on extensive European tours.
