Lisa Bassenge presents her brand new album "Two Whole Summers, Half A Life". She relies on her proven fellow musicians Jacob Karlzon on piano and Andreas Lang on bass, as with her previous albums. The songs - as always - a seemingly wild mix from all corners of the pop, singer-songwriter and jazz universe - surprisingly from a single source. The spectrum ranges from Elliott Smith to Duran Duran, from Billie Holiday to Björk. Is that possible? "Yes," says the Berlin singer, "it's always about the expressiveness of the songs, this is the thematic bracket for us." So it happens that a Hank Williams song stands next to Madonna's "Frozen" and "Catch" by The Cure. Lisa Bassenge has been cultivating this versatility and openness for over two decades now. Her voice glows and sparkles in all the song interpretations. The basic colouring of the programme, however, remains jazz. The Scandinavian relaxed sound cradles Lisa softly. Let yourself be led into a rich sound cosmos.
