Marialy Pacheco Trio"Bach was the first jazz musician for me: His pieces are like written improvisation, perfectly done." Marialy Pacheco

Pianist Marialy Pacheco celebrated her greatest success to date when she won the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition in 2012 - she was the first woman in the competition's 15-year history to win the world's most important piano jazz prize. The internationally highly respected pianist, composer and arranger comes from Cuba and grew up between salsa and classical music. Inspired by the "Cologne Concert" by the piano virtuoso Keith Jarrett, she discovered jazz for herself. With "Reload", Marialy Pacheco released her twelfth album and her most moving and mature work to date. Her Cuban roots are growing towards Latin American traditions and influences from classical music. Their music is authentic and yet contemporary. She is congenially accompanied by her two Colombian fellow musicians, Juan Camillo Villa on bass and Miguel Altamar on drums. This instrumentation and the sum of the musical parts is unique in the sound result and puts Marialy's artistic character in particular in the foreground. "Reload" is a melting pot of different musical identities and a treasure trove of her numerous life experiences.
