Everyone knows the Godfather of Soul James Brown and his legendary song "Cold Sweat" – but few know the secret weapon that appears in this and many other of his songs: Mrs. Martha High. Martha High is finally coming to Hamburg with her brand new Christmas program.

Her CV has it all: For thirty years, Martha High was the singer in the band of the exceptional artist James Brown and thus made a historically significant contribution to the history of soul music. In 1968, she sang in the Boston Garden the night after the assassination of Martin Luther King, and in 1974 she entertained American troops in Vietnam during the legendary "Rumble in the Jungle" by Muhammad Ali. Martha High thus has enough material to explore her own musical heritage, but she is always drawn to those boards that mean the world to her. Even today, she regularly tours the world with Maceo Parker, another long-time altar boy of the "Godfather of Soul". With her Soul Cookers in her luggage, the goddess of soul sings today with all her vocal power and brings the finest Christmas funk to Hamburg.
