Mike ZitoOne of the most celebrated artists of contemporary blues – his honesty, authenticity, and integrity are simply overwhelming.

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Mike Zito from St. Louis, Missouri was a co-founder of the supergroup Royal Southern Brotherhood, which also includes Cyril Neville, Devon Allman and Charlie Wooton. Since 2014, however, Zito has been concentrating on his own career. Almost all of his albums have been nominated or awarded "Best Album" for Blues Music Awards. Until he settled in Texas and freed himself from the clutches of personal demons, Mike Zito lived an extremely eventful, self-destructive life, was homeless and addicted to drugs in the meantime. He himself sees music as one of the healing elements in his life - accordingly, his life experiences are reflected in his guitar style and his singing. Someone knows what he is singing about when it comes to the abysses and hardships with which the world can confront people. Zito is celebrated as one of the most renowned musicians in the blues worldwide. All the greats of the blues scene show him their reference again and again, for example Joe Bonamassa has been at his side as a producer. His playing ranges from spectacular, eruptive solos to traditionally grooving licks. After countless personal strokes of fate, his songs have developed a depth that is second to none. "I have nothing to hide, it seems that my honesty is what attracts people the most," he told Vintage Guitar magazine. "If you don't believe in what you're singing, you'll never be a good singer. I try not to write easy nonsense. My goal is to make every word count."
