For the 2025/26 season, the British pianist, composer and bandleader Nikki Iles will take over as chief conductor of the NDR Bigband. Nikki Iles captivates with her sympathetic manner, a large pinch of charm, but above all with her extraordinary skills: Her compositions are highly creative and at the same time deeply rooted in the tradition of jazz. "Back to the Roots" is not only reflected in the compositions and her way of playing, as chief conductor she not only wants to play on the world stages with the NDR Bigband, but also be in direct exchange with the audience in jazz clubs.
