© Jedrek MaczugowskiOmasta is a five-piece band from Krakow that forges a raw and multi-layered sound at the intersection of jazz, hip-hop and street culture. Driven by heavy drums, deep bass and a richly textured instrumental palette, they have quickly earned a reputation in the European jazz scene through their energetic live performances. Their debut album "Jazz Report from the Hood" is a collectively crafted ode to city life – a sonic portrait of daily hustle and bustle, resilience and the pulse of the streets. Inspired by artists such as J Dilla and Madlib, as well as jazz-funk pioneers of the 1970s, Omasta channels these influences into a distinctive and instantly recognizable sound that is firmly rooted in their Polish roots.
