The Israeli jazz trio has been in existence for ten years and has now established itself at the top of the international jazz scene. The multi-award-winning Omer Klein has released 10 solo albums and around one hundred original compositions so far. The debut CD of his trio "Fearless Friday" was praised by the jazz magazine All About Jazz as "one of the most rewarding piano trio releases of recent years". Last year, "Life & Fire" was released – the current album of the Omer Klein Trio for its tenth anniversary. Music is a language that needs no words and finds all the more translations. The Israeli Omer Klein, who lives in Frankfurt am Main, knows how to use this language excellently as a composer, improviser and pianist and surprises on every new album with a vocabulary that does not need a dictionary to open doors and build bridges. In the last ten years, four albums have been created, and the joint musical experience of the three musicians has been shared with audiences at numerous concerts worldwide. In order not to get lost on well-trodden paths for the celebration on this occasion, Klein has preceded the production of the new album with clear principles. The first maxim was that it should be fun. Principle two was that friends should be involved, after all, it's an anniversary party. Thirdly, an anniversary means honouring the past in a new way and carrying it into the future. These three coordinates gave Omer Klein the direction. "I decided to go to a small studio without headphones, where we all recorded in the same room. Half of the material should be pieces that we have played countless times before and can now present in a new way."
"Life & Fire" is a window into the present for eternity. This firework of life transports all the events, experiences and ideas of the last few years, without demanding explanations or wanting to instruct the listener. The title speaks for itself – a celebration of life in all its facets.
