Philip LassiterThe multi-faceted multi-instrumentalist has been knee-deep in funk since his time as a trumpeter and arranger with Prince's New Power Generation.

Philip Lassiter is not only one of the hottest funk musicians, but also sprinkles socio-political messages and "funny stories" into his sound. He is criminally unknown in this country, although he was already a member of Prince's New Power Generation and worked as a trumpeter, arranger and producer with Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey, among others. The "Rolling Stone" praised his album "Live In Love" in the highest tones. Musically, he combines old school funk with today's R'n'B and sprinkles in reggae, electronics, hip-hop and rap. He comes from Mobile, Alabama, and grew up with gospel, jazz and soul. He worked with Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis as a trumpeter – with Earth, Wind & Fire and James Brown as a source of inspiration. Prince was his teacher - this collaboration opened doors for him: Since then, Lassiter has been the man when it comes to crisp brass sounds in funk productions. That's exactly what he brings to the stage with his own band: He takes the audience on a sweaty trip into the funkosphere. Funk you very much, Phil Lassiter.
