Simon Phillips Protocol VJazz. Rock. Jazz-rock. In more than four decades, the legendary drummer has proven to excel in almost any musical environment.

Protocol V – five albums – five band members – 100 percent music. Simon Phillips is one of the world's most celebrated drummers. His reputation precedes him because he not only shines technically, but is blessed with sensitivity. His game lacks neither precision nor emotion. He became known to the broad, not necessarily jazz-inclined audience through his twenty years of permanent employment as Toto's drummer. His rhythm moves members of the jazz elite as well as Mick Jagger, The Who, Jeff Beck, Jack Bruce, Peter Gabriel, Joe Satriani, Tears for Fears, Judas Priest, Roxy Music, Michael Schenker, Nik Kershaw, Al DiMeola, 801, Pete Townshend, Robert Palmer, Stanley Clarke, The Pretenders, Whitesnake and Dave Gilmore ... to name just a few. In 1989, Simon started his solo career with the release of his album "Protocol". In the meantime, the artist's work has arrived at Protocol V and in keeping with the respective album, there was also a band project, also called Protocol, with which Phillips presented his compositions live. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Protocol, Simon is touring with keyboardist Otmaro Ruiz, bassist Ernest Tibbs, Alex Sill on guitar and Jacob Scesney on saxophone. What an opportunity to experience this exceptional musician in the intimate setting of the Nica Jazz Club.
