The Jakob Manz Project has been on the rise in the jazz scene for almost six years. With the release of their first album in 2020, the quartet around the now 24-year-old saxophonist Jakob Manz is suddenly present on almost all jazz stages and has been able to easily maintain the fall of festivals and venues such as Jazztage Leverkusen 2019, Jazz Baltica 2022 or Elbjazz 2023 ever since. The ensemble plays fresh jazz, powerful and unused. Groovy, soulful jazz – that's the passion of this band. The band's music is very much inspired by jazz, rock and funk, but is enriched by the four artistic personalities with their numerous influences from soul, pop, world music or hip-hop. Although Manz and his band are still pretty much at the beginning of his career, his gifted talent was recognized early on - greats like Randy Brecker, Ack van Rooyen and Wolfgang Dauner are his fans. With their fresh and gripping sound, The Jakob Manz Project is one of the most successful bands of young German jazz. Hardly any other young band triggers such storms of enthusiasm among their audience. Whether club or big festival stage, the unmistakable energy of this band permeates every concert venue to the farthest corner and catapults its audience into their multi-layered music. In 2024, their second studio album "The Answer" was released by ACT Music, one of the most renowned jazz labels in Europe.
