"My soul has grown deep like the rivers" wrote the poet Langston Hughes, entirely in Goethe's sense, "Man's soul is like water". The German soul singer and guitarist Torsten Goods now flows into our ears with "Soul Deep". With his eighth album, he offers much more than just a continuation of his successful album "Soul Searching". The twelve new pieces, either written by himself or with his British soul brother Bluey Maunick by Incognito, present the 44-year-old as a mature artist, influenced by soul, but also jazz and blues and the summery Westcoast/AOR sounds of the late 70s in California. As virtuoso as this music may be, as checked out and produced, the sounds of the voices and instruments touch the soul of the listener. It is balm and enrichment for everyone, profound and intense, just "Soul Deep". The new album tells the personal stories of Torsten Goods, who according to the SZ is "gifted on the guitar as well as as a singer". It is also about his visual transformation through alopecia, the sudden and persistent hair loss. But above all, love stands and hovers over everything. His "Soul Deep" tour 2025 will take Goods all over Germany, but also through Austria, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland, his mother's homeland. The band behind the new album is back, all musicians, absolute experts and perfectly rehearsed in this line-up for sixteen years. The focus of these concerts is of course the music of the new album, but also the fan favorites from "Soul Searching" and Torsten's back catalogue are not to be missed. In this way, every concert becomes a unique experience, a feast full of heartfelt, virtuosically played, acoustic happiness maker. "Smooth vocals, fast guitars and feel good grooves" make up the soul of this musical experience.
