The VKB Band brings together three extraordinary songwriters: the genre-bending Rachelle Garniez, the globetrotting adventurer Amanda Homi and the bluesy Kirsten Thien, whose collaboration captivates with originality, humor and warmth. Their performances celebrate the sensitive and surprising world of Tom Waits, reinterpreted through luminous three-part harmonies and fresh interpretations that are both timeless and new. Far from a tribute band, VKB's original arrangements spring from a shared creative spirit. Drawing from a playful treasure chest full of instruments – harmonium, accordion, banjo, washboard, guitars, bottles and bells – their sound dances between mischievousness and tenderness. Women's bands are still underrepresented in the rock & pop business. The VKB Band shows what three multi-instrumentalists can transfer to the stage with their great love for Tom Waits. The band name was created in reference to Woody Allen's film of the same name, which was about the relationship between three women and a man. It's similar with VKB: Three women and the music of Tom Waits. The three musicians meet at the intersection of tragedy and comedy to reinterpret the beautiful Waits songs and uncover new facets. In 2027, their anniversary tour and the release of their fourth album will take place. They will present this new album to us at Nica.
