Walter Ricci is someone who really needs to be discovered. Hailing from Naples, he has been fascinated by jazz and its many styles since he listened to vocal greats such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Ella Fitzgerald at the age of eight. He started his professional career at the age of 14 with performances in renowned Italian clubs. In 2006, Ricci was awarded the "Premio Nazionale Massimo Urbani". Shortly afterwards, he toured France, Spain and Switzerland with saxophonist Stefano Di Battista. Walter Ricci has performed at festivals throughout Italy and at Dizzy's Club in New York and Eastern Europe. He has worked with stars such as Mario Biondi, Karima, Michael Buble, Jerry Weldon, Emmet Cohen, Gregory Hutchinson and many others. He makes his debut in Hamburg this evening.
