For over 40 years, the Yellowjackets have been considered the epitome of American fusion music and are still one of the best bands in jazz and fusion. The two busy founding members Russell Ferrante and William Kennedy are still there with new ideas and full of joy of playing and have further perfected the loose, funky-swinging sound of the band. Sometimes world music elements were recorded, then rocking was played again, and at times acoustic jazz was given more space. After more than 20 albums, this is by no means routine. Especially since Bob Mintzer joined the band in 1990, it has grown into a musical unit. The compositions are mainly by keyboardist Ferrante. With multifaceted arrangements and a proven mixture of jazz, funk, rock and Latin elements, the Yellowjackets have been inspiring for decades as a real live band that calls up its full potential on stage. A real highlight in our progam.
