Last year, Sarah Vaughan would have turned 100 years old. The British singer Zara McFarlane resurrects the music of one of the oversized and style-defining divas. Neither in the form of a copying homage, nor does the highly decorated singer do her own thing exclusively. Rather, she is concerned with a very individual further development of Vaughan's works, which breathe the spirit of this wonderful singing icon. McFarlane, whose parents are from Jamaica and who was born and raised in London, has always pursued her artistic path, despite the initial lack of success of her first works. In recent years, however, her breakthrough has manifested itself. Another terrific voice to discover at the Nica Jazz Club.
